The first-ever cyberFESTSPIELE, organised by cyberLAGO, was so much more than just another event — it was a vibrant celebration of digital transformation, future skills, and co-creation and a new way to organise such big events. It brought together entrepreneurs, innovators, and digital experts to dive into thought-provoking talks, hands-on experiences, and interactive sessions that explored the future of work, technology, and leadership. From the inspiring Bühnenrausch sessions to the engaging Deep Dives and the lively conversations in the Salon, I aimed to tell the story of the day through my lens.
Deliverable:
The cyberFESTSPIELE truly showed how innovative event formats can educate, inspire, and connect people in meaningful ways. I’m genuinely proud to have played a part in bringing its energy and vision to life through video. Thank you again to the amazing Nicole Amann for the incredible event as well as the entire cyberLAGO team. Let’s work together to visualise your next event!

Filming the Erasmus Generation Meeting, a Study Visit for EFEE and Stock FootageIn late March and early April I'm going on tour across Europe to film two events and planned the filming of stock footage before and after the shooting days.
You can find my stock footage selection for licensing below: The journey began in 2013, with the viral success of my first little video "Welcome to Erasmus - If Erasmus had a Trailer" which is still being used in ESN at the start of the semesters across Europe 10 years later.
The turning point came in 2014 when I joined as the video director for the flagship project Mov'in Europe of ESN International. The Annual General Meeting in Milano saw the premiere of my first video in front of a captivated audience of 1000 people. As the room fell silent, the realization hit me – "Shit man, it's working!?!?!" It was in that moment that I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to this craft. The journey continued with the creation of videos that I now call my Erasmus Classics such as the ESN Recruitment Video "Erasmus Encore" and the ESN Imagefilm "#THISisESN." In 2014 and motivated by the reactions to my videos from the international community, I officially registering my small business as a freelancer on October 30th. Post-graduation in 2016 the question was still open if videomaking can sustain me both creatively and financially? However, 2017 marked a turning point, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Erasmus+. Opportunities poured in, a testament to the connections forged during my time with ESN. Navigating through the highs and lows, the past two years witnessed a transformative process, elevating my small business to the status of a corporation in Germany (Einzelunternehmer zur GmbH). With the foundation laid, I find myself in a state of immense happiness, motivation, and relaxation, ready to embark on new projects and plans. Already booked until the end of 2024, every upcoming venture feels like a bonus. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me over the past decade and believed in both me and my skills. Here's to the next chapter of Doodt Media – a decade of dreams turned into a reality. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey! 🎬✨ #DoodtMedia #VideographyMilestone #ADecadeOfDream How can we motivate Alumni from a University to join the Alumni Association? With this question in mind we conceptualised in close collaboration with the University of Freiburg Alumni Association the new alumni-film. The video emphasizes how alumni support is instrumental in sustaining the university's excellent research and teaching. It particularly highlights the Alumni Club's role in promoting financial assistance for students in need, fostering equality of opportunities, and granting researchers the flexibility to focus on their work. Furthermore it also highlighted the benefits of the alumni network on an institutional level with the example of a renovation of a lecture hall which will benefit the generations to come. Capturing Moments of Impact: Documenting FPI's Global Engagement at the Paris Peace Forum24/11/2023 FPI Mission 1: Paris Peace Forum
I'm excited to share a snippet from my recent lens adventure at the Paris Peace Forum, where I had the privilege of working with Stantec by documenting the European Commission's Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI).
Three services provided:
3 Projects to Promote Peace
During our mission in Paris we focused on three projects which are supported by FPI. It was incredible to see over 60 initatives from all over the world being presented at the Paris Peace Forum
Filming and meeting Legends
What added a special touch were the encounters with inspiring leaders like Jacinda Ardern and Oleksandra Matviichuk.
Meeting Jacinda Ardern, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, was a highlight. Her leadership style, seamlessly balancing the demands of public service and personal life, left a lasting impression. It's not every day you come across a leader so grounded and inspiring.
Engaging in conversation with Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2022, was an enlightening experience. During our interview conducted by Gilles Gasser we delved into the pivotal role of women in conflicts, shedding light on perspectives that often go unnoticed.
Mission 2: Guadalajara International Book Fair
This weekend we are collaborating with a local team of videomakers and photographers to cover the second mission and participation of the EU as a Guest of Honor at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. More infos coming soon.
I am excited to share a remarkable collaboration that I had the privilege of being a part of over the past months. Working closely with the University of Freiburg, one of Germany's oldest and most prestigious institutions, we embarked on a project to bring their new mission statement to life—a mission deeply rooted in values that have shaped the university's legacy. Link: https://leitbild.uni-freiburg.de/ Our approach was straightforward yet profound. Rather than simply talking about these values, we sought to illustrate how they are woven into the fabric of daily life at the university. To achieve this, we set out to capture and share the real-life stories of members within the university community. These stories served as living embodiments of Quality, Openness, and Responsibility. A key factor in the success of this project was meticulous pre-production planning. We left no room for uncertainty, planning the shooting day down to the minute. This precision allowed us to film everything in a single day, minimizing disruption to the busy schedules of our interview partners.
By conducting pre-interviews, we not only ensured that our interviewees were comfortable and well-prepared but also strategically connected the three stories. We knew exactly which aspects to focus on once the cameras were rolling, resulting in a more efficient and impactful production process. As viewers follow the narratives of these remarkable individuals, they also embark on a visual journey through our picturesque campus where we can show some of the most important spots. What makes this project even more captivating is the seamless transition from one story to another. At the moments when these individuals cross paths, we not only showcase the beauty of our campus but also symbolize the profound interconnectedness that defines our vibrant community. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the University of Freiburg for entrusting me with this significant project. It has been an incredible and productive journey, one that highlights the enduring commitment of this institution to its values and its community. On September 13th, I had the privilege of collaborating with ICF Next and the European Commission to cover the State of the European Union Speech (SOTEU) by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. This year, the spotlight was on instant media production to support a group of young influencers with photography and video content. In an era where news and trends evolve at the speed of light, we recognized the imperative to switch from traditional after movies to embrace live reporting. Traditional after movies, while valuable in their own right and useful in many ways, often lag behind the pace of current events. For an occasion as significant as SOTEU, where time is of the essence, real-time content production is the new standard. My role as a media producer was to join a group of talented influencers to provide them with real-time, high-quality photographs and edited video content. Delivering content about their experience instantly and allowing influencers to seamlessly incorporate pictures and videos into their reporting on meetings with key figures like Ursula von der Leyen and Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, and many more. This not only enhanced their coverage but also maximized the outreach of SOTEU overall, ensuring that their young audiences across Europe were engaged and informed. I want to express our sincere gratitude to the exceptional team at ICF Next and the European Commission for their meticulous organization and trust in my capabilities to cover the event and together reaching a wider audience to show what SOTEU is all about.

The transition from Doodt Films to Doodt Media GmbH represents a profound step forward, driven by the desire to elevate the quality of my work, fortify my financial security, and embrace new collaborative opportunities. I am grateful for the unwavering support from my friends, clients and partners, whose trust and belief in my abilities have fueled this transformation. With a strong legal foundation in place, I am excited about the boundless possibilities that lie ahead. I will continue as a one-man-show for the near future to craft exceptional videos and share captivating stories that inspire, inform, and connect about EU Values and promote Education for all.
Thank you for being a part of this remarkable journey, and I eagerly anticipate the remarkable projects and partnerships we will create together as Doodt Media GmbH. Warm regards, Patrick Doodt Founder & CEO, Doodt Media GmbH This year, I had the pleasure of collaborating once again with the University of Konstanz to produce three videos about the Messmer Awards for the Dies Academicus award ceremony. The goal was to present these films to the audience before the awards were given, providing a comprehensive overview of the awardees' research and the reasons for their recognition.
Background: The Dies Academicus is an annual academic holiday at the University of Konstanz that serves as an opportunity to reflect on the past academic year. During this event, the university honors outstanding members and award winners while offering insights into current research and teaching activities. I had the great privilege of collaborating with ICF Next on an exciting and meaningful project for the European Commission. This initiative, part of the General Online Training for the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), involved producing a series of Youth Talks. These inspiring speeches, given by young people from across Europe, were performed in front of live audiences and recorded. My Role as a Videomaker: In my role as a videomaker, I was responsible for recording and editing these powerful speeches organized by ICF Next. Each Youth Talk showcased the creativity and energy of Europe's young people, and I am proud to have played a part in bringing their voices to a broader audience. Overview of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC): The European Solidarity Corps aims to build a more inclusive society by supporting vulnerable people and addressing societal challenges. It offers young people an empowering experience to help, learn, and develop. Participants uphold values such as solidarity, respect for human dignity, human rights, and the promotion of a fair and equal society. They strive to enhance solidarity, respect cultures and traditions, and build communities of shared responsibilities and mutual support. General Online Training for the European Solidarity Corps: The General Online Training (GOT) platform for the ESC is an excellent resource and training course for current and prospective volunteers to get the most out of their ESC experience. This platform offers comprehensive training through various modules, providing valuable insights and practical tips for participants. Youth Talks Highlights Video and Trailer
